Woodbine Community Foundation Established with KRCF
(Nov. 17, 2009) — "The Woodbine Community Foundation Fund is dedicated to the improvement and sustainability of our community,” said Woodbine Mayor Bart Hettenbach, who—along with City Councilperson Mary Sue Roller—was instrumental in establishing the foundation, which is an affiliated fund of the Kansas Rural Communities Foundation. “We formed the fund to help facilitate the support and generosity of people who are receptive to the vital needs of our community.” The Woodbine Community Foundation Fund is aimed at ensuring a prosperous future for this rural community, which has a population of approximately 207 people. Admire Fall Festival Saturday, Sept. 19
Events include professional wrestlers, kiddie carnival, street dance and more
(September 11, 2009) Admire, KS — The Admire Fall Festival will kick off at 9 a.m. on Saturday, September 19, and will incorporate a full day of activities for the whole family, including food and other vendors, horseshoe and talent contests, a silent auction, professional wrestling, a kiddie carnival, Identi-kid, a concert, educational displays, and a street dance. St. Marys Friends of the Park to Host Third Annual Fall Festival

Granite Hills Legacy Foundation Established to Promote Community Philanthropy
(June 16, 2009) Wamego, KS — Due to current deficit and budgetary limits being set by the State of Kansas, coupled with declining populations and empty storefronts, small rural communities may quickly deplete their resources due to a lack of funding and state support. A group of community-minded philanthropists from Onaga, Wheaton, and Havensville – aka the Granite Hills area – decided to take matters into their own hands and started the Granite Hills Legacy Foundation, an affiliated fund with the Kansas Rural Communities Foundation headquartered in Wamego. (March 2, 2009) Wamego, KS — Effective Monday, March 2, the Kansas Rural Communities Foundation office is in a new location. We have moved to 1004 Lincoln
Ave. in Wamego. Our phone and fax numbers and e-mail address will remain the
same. However, please note that we will not have USPS mail delivery at the
physical location, so all mail will need to be addressed to the foundation at
PO Box 25, Wamego KS 66547 (and not to the street address).
We are excited about this move and invite you to come visit us in our new office location!
